Experian ( and XXXX while we're at it ) both have a ridiculous policy of disallowing credit reporting disputes online if you've EVER submitted a dispute for the same data furnisher EVER in the past. Both of these agencies only allow you to dispute by phone when you're blocked from doing it online and both also go OUT OF THEIR WAY to make it impossible to reach them via phone to resolve the issue when that is the only option a customer has ( besides sending a snail-mail letter in 2023 ). I tried calling Experian this morning and even though I am a paid member of their credit monitoring service, I was presented with an interactive voice response system that was more than XXXX steps deep. This same system also asked me the same questions over and over again after transferring me to different IVRs. At no point could I reach an actual person, even when pressing " XXXX. '' If I'm a paying member, I should have the right to expect better customer service than this. I'm also deeply suspicious of a credit reporting agency reserving the right to REFUSE to investigate a consumer-initiated dispute at all -- especially when the amount of time between disputes and/or when the reason for the dispute are both vast and different. The last time I filed any kind of dispute regarding this account was more than 2 years ago and the reason wasn't even the same as what the issue is now. What's worse -- the data furnisher DID fix the error that I reported back then, but Experian claimed nothing changed and incorrectly states " dispute resolve -- consumer disagrees '' on this account. ( I have proof that the furnisher did change the incorrect information, so Experian is actually in the wrong in this case ).
