Dear Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, I am writing to file a complaint against Wells Fargo Bank for closing my checking and savings account without prior notice. On XX/XX/2018, I discovered that my checking and savings account had been closed by Wells Fargo Bank due to an alleged overdraft. I was extremely surprised, as I have always been careful in monitoring my balance and had no knowledge of overdrawing my account i was informed by email that there had been an error in the application of a charge to my account, which had resulted in an overdraft. This action by Wells Fargo Bank has been especially difficult for me because I was laid off from my job at that time and was struggling financially. I relied on this account for my daily financial transactions and am now in a very difficult situation. Additionally, I feel very frustrated by the lack of communication and the bank 's lack of interest in resolving this issue. As a result of my account being closed, I have been sent to collections and have been charged additional fees which I consider unfair. I would like this situation to be reviewed and for me to be reimbursed for any improper charges and the damages to my credit history. I hope that this complaint will be taken into consideration and the necessary steps will be taken to resolve this issue and prevent it from happening again in the future. Sincerely, XXXX XXXX
