On XX/XX/2022 I pulled my XXXX credit report and noticed a collection from a collection company by the name of RentDebt Automated Collections. I sent them a letter dated XX/XX/2022 informing them that they had violated federal law under the FDCPA Regulation F by reporting an unknown debt to my credit file. I asked them to remove this reporting and to provide me with Validation that this debt belonged to me. In response I received a letter acknowleding my letter of dispute. I specifically noticed them that I was not seeking verification nor was I consenting or acknowledging the collection that they have placed on my credit report. In return, they indicated that they would contact the consumer agencies to show that this collection is being disputed. They have totally ignored the law and think that they can by-pass it by falsely stating indirectly that I am consenting of acknowledging this reported collections. Furthermore, the information that they provide to me does not belong to me. I do not know who they are nor do I acknowledge the collection that they have placed on my credit file as of XX/XX/2022 well after Regulation F went into effective.
