We moved out of our apartment ( XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX ) XX/XX/XXXX. In XX/XX/XXXX, my wife contacted them to get an apartment verification for a home loan and was told that we had a {$3000.00} balance for failure to vacate the property without notice. She told XXXX XXXX property manager ), we did give proper notice and even showed him the email that was sent to the previous property management, he said that it was not valid. She then contacted the previous property management company, who confirmed we gave proper notice AND that information was emailed to her. I personally went to the office and gave XXXX the copy along with a copy of the picture of the walk thru we did with his former employee and he said he would send it to corporate for approval and get back to us within a week. Two weeks later, we heard nothing. I went back to the property again and was told by XXXX that corporate denied the approval and we still had the {$3000.00} balance and now he was saying that included damages. My wife contacted corporate several times in XX/XX/XXXX and finally received a response in XX/XX/XXXX from XXXX XXXX. She was told the charges would be corrected and would only be charged for damages, which she estimated around {$900.00} or less. Again we never heard anything until in XXXX my wife received notice that they sent us to collections. She contacted corporate again and several times since then and til this day we have not had a reply from them. XXXX, the property manager, did reply and said he left my wife a voicemail and since we didn't pay, he sent it to collections. She asked when he left her the voicemail because she never received a call from him, he said he didn't know. Furthermore, if our balance for damages was around {$900.00}, I'm sure they didn't take into account that we gave a {$1200.00} deposit and therefore don't owe them anything, they would owe us money. Also, he could have contacted me as well, he had my phone number and email address that I left him when I dropped off the paperwork. And in the paperwork, also included my forwarding address, I never received a notice by mail either.
