On XX/XX/2022 @ approximately XXXX I received a credit alert stating I had a XXXX XXXX on my Experian credit report, dated XX/XX/2022. The alert stated the inquiry was initiated by XXXX XXXX XXXX. I contacted the fraud department at Experian and advised them of the situation. They said that they would remove the inquiry and put a fraud alert on my account as well as the ones with XXXX and XXXX. They recommended I contact the Federal Trade Commission to report the incident, as it might be an identity theft situation. I then contacted XXXX fraud department and reported the incident to them. They advised that it had been an on-line application which had been declined. They said they would cancel the application totally and notify the credit bureaus to remove the inquiry.
