I applied for a loan on XXXX XXXX to see what my options were without affecting my credit. I was suggested a company called Lendmark financial while on the phone with them I was just inquiring about a loan and did not want my credit pulled. I looked up companies that did soft pulls without applying for a loan and they were one of the companies that came up. After speaking to the representative they told me I could see how much I could get approved for without a hard credit pull, because I was very specific I did not want a hard credit pull. I hung up from the representative and after discussing with my wife I did not want the hard inquiry on my credit report. About 30 minutes later the representative had called me and told me my credit had already been pulled.
