We purchased a truck in XX/XX/2022 from XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX MD. Santander financed the loan. In the process of the financing paperwork, it was a very rushed process as the business closed hours prior to our financing process. The XXXX XXXX at XXXX failed to go over the contract in its entirety and only told us the first payment would be due in XXXX days and the finance company would contact us. In addition, there was an incorrect address on our paperwork which means we failed to receive any statements by mail. I created a customer portal account in order to get notifications regarding the account, which I checked multiple times in the course of the XXXX days. There was no information in the portal. When I checked in XXXX, I saw the information and saw the account was delinquent. I immediately paid the XXXX and XXXX payment. However, it was already reported as XXXX days late. When Santander was contacted, they advised me that the 30 day late payment could not be reversed as they attempted to contact my husband ( the borrower ) but at no point did they contact me ( the co buyer ). We received nothing by mail nor did I receive any statement by email or otherwise. They admittedly reported that they had returned mail from us. I don't feel as though my credit should suffer due to mistakes of others and I am asking that this XXXX day late payment be removed off my credit.
