I opened a capital one secure credit card in XXXX of last year. Ive maintained the card perfectly and since increased my credit score significantly. Capital one and other credit card companies are now sending me offers daily to open new cards. My issue is that capital one has not upgraded my secure card to unsecured ( thereby releasing my {$1000.00} ) but they are sending me offers for new credit lines. If Im able to open a traditional unsecured card through their company I should be able to unsecured my card without having to close the account and hurt my credit score. I asked the company the process on in securing the card and there are no set review periods or metrics or ways to request a review. I find this to be a deliberate attempt to hold onto peoples funds for longer than is needed. This should be criminal.
