Capital One : Fraud case XXXX I reported a fraudulent use of my credit card on XX/XX/XXXX to Capital one when I saw a charge of {$500.00} to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. Yesterday I received a letter from Capital One denying the fraud claim saying that they had investigated the charge and found it was valid. I spoke to the XXXX department and was escalated several times and received the same answer of denial. I did learn two things from these conversations : 1. The supposed sale took place at XXXXXXXX XXXX in the morning in XXXX ; 2 ) the card was either swiped or used in person. I was indeed in XXXX from XXXX late evening from XX/XX/XXXX when my XXXX ship sailed. However at XXXXXXXX XXXX I was asleep on my cabin on the ship with my spouse. There was no way I could have made an in person purchase. Capital One refused to give me any information about the vendor including address. Indeed, I can not find any trace of the vendor. My conclusion is that when I visited the XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX ( and made no purchases or went into any storeswith a personal guide ) my credit card information was somehow electronically stolen
