In XX/XX/XXXX I opened a dispute with Experian about my student loan from the Department of Education. This Loan was Opened on XX/XX/XXXX in the amount of XXXX. I made a dispute with Experian in XXXX about having the account removed but was unsuccessful. In XXXX of XXXX, the account was refinanced - along with other student loans- into a new account. However, the US DOE Reported that the Account was in Collections in XXXX of XXXX, which was completely false. In addition to the false report, it has been well over 7 Years from the Opening date, and should no longer appear on my credit report. This is having a negative impact on my score which is unfair being that the account has a false report, and is very old. I tried to submit a XXXX dispute with Experian on XX/XX/XXXX, but Experian denied to request because I made a prior dispute. This is unfair and damaging to my credit report. The Fair Credit Reporting Act prohibits Credit reporting agencies are obliged to delete inaccurate, incomplete or unverifiable information.The Fair Credit Reporting Act prohibits background screening firms from reporting any arrest record or adverse non-conviction information older than seven years.
