Consumer Narrative

On XX/XX/XXXX Friday at XXXX XXXX I went to Wells Fargo XXXX XXXX located at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX to withdraw {$1000.00} deposited into my checking account from a payroll check provided by my employer XXXX XXXX that same day. I was assisted by a teller and acting Branch XXXX Manager XXXX XXXX. I presented my Driver 's License and was wearing my photo ID XXXX XXXX work badge. I was told that my identity can not be verified because my address in their system is reflecting XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX I informed the teller and XXXX XXXX, that isn't nor has it ever been my address. My address is what my Driver 's License accurately reflects and has been the same since XX/XX/2015. Furthermore, I never requested a change of address on my checking account. Nor have I authorized the bank to perform one. I then asked, " Why wasn't I notified of this change? '' I also asked, " Who authorized this Fraudulent change? '' and " Who made this Fraudulent change? '' I was told that I can't be provided with that information. I was then instructed to visit a branch that is open on Saturday. Due to the closed offsite back office, this branch will not release funds from my payroll check. I informed the branch manager that this Fraud, and a violation of the Gramm Leach Bliley Act, Community Reinvestment Act, Electronic Funds Transfer Act, and the ECOA. To which the Branch manager replied, " I don't have time for all of that '' I do know that I can not issue funds without verifying your identity. '' I informed her that I have a copy of my US birth certificate in addition to my Driver 's License and work photo ID badge which I've already presented. She still refused to release my direct deposit payroll checking account funds. I require & deserve swift economic justice in the form of substantial punitive damages and monetary compensation. As a result of the egregious Federal violation resulting in pain & suffering, embarrassment, unfair deceptive, and discriminatory practices as a result of being a Low- income XXXXXXXX XXXX customer. Wells Fargo has also failed to uphold the Fact Act and identity theft Red Flag rules as an additional violation against me. The non-minority customers that I've observed in line being services ahead of me, experienced no such unfair, biased, discriminatory treatment. This Demand letter for XXXX XXXX XXXX in the form of substantial monetary compensation including punitive damages is being provided to the CFPB, OCC, FTC, and the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, against Wells Fargo Bank XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX.
