On XX/XX/XXXX, the credit reporting bureau Experian concluded an investigation into a tradeline beginning with account number XXXX ... with XXXX XXXX XXXX. The XXXX offered a settlement to close the account. I scheduled a payment on XX/XX/XXXX and paid the settlement balance on XX/XX/XXXX. Experian is reporting the account open with no recent payments, and the current balance as {$10000.00}. However, there is a payment that has posted for {$2100.00} on XX/XX/XXXX and the account is now closed with XXXX XXXX. I have requested that the creditor delete file and derogatory information. I have found that Experian will not conduct thorough investigations and look at evidence presented. They will mislead consumer by stating they will but in fact, they often do not. This makes it extremely difficult for consumers to correct errors on credit reports which negatively impacts their credit score. It is a violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Secondly, I want to file a complaint regarding Experian 's handling of the XXXX tradeline on my account. It is reflecting a late payment history, despite my numerous attempts to dispute the error. I provided the information showing the satisfactory payoff the account, which was paid off early.
