I was contacted by someone claiming to be from the Wells Fargo fraud department. She attempted to verify some transactions that were not mine. I was sent a text code, also from the normal Wells Fargo number i get the 2 factor authentication from. I gave her the code. I believe she then was able to login to my account. She asked for my XXXX secure token id for some reason. I gave it to her but then immediately realized something wasn't right. I hung up the phone and called Wells Fargo immediately. While i was calling i got a notification that a wire went through. They told me on the phone that she wired money to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and i didn't understand why they couldn't ' call them immediately and say 'do n't let this money leave '. They ( wells fargo ), did not seem in a hurry to do anything. They reset my username and pw for online access and told me i needed to go into the bank and close the account and open a new one, which i did the very next day. They have now denied my claim saying i'm responsible for all wires on my account regardless of whether i authorized them or not. This is crazy. I was also told in the bank that i would get the money back and now i'm told i want. This is absolute fraud, i did not authorize this wire and I was scammed.
