XX/XX/18 I called american express to get new card. They had a deal so I got one I had a old american express card which I had for 14 Years. Guy on phone Specifically told me if I close the old one that it wouldn't effect my Credit score because the new one would be the same account number. I asked 3 separate times I told him I was a member for 14 years and wanted to make sure that it stayed that way. He said Specifically that the account stays the same only difference was new card number. Said I wouldn't be affected and now more score dropped XXXX Points do to misinformation. They have it recorded and are opening a internal investigation. Issue is as a consumer I now have a tanked XXXX XXXX due to mis information by there Customer service team. The told me I can try to get reinstated, but im past the 30 days and they want to rerun a hard inquiry and can't guarntee that they reinstate. This is a HUGE problem and credit fraud on there end I need help
