Sometime in XXXX I became aware of a Capital One account had been opened in my name. I honestly can not remember how but I think Capital One contacted me. At the time of the call I thought it was done, account closed. I did ask for verification of the closed account to be mailed to me. I got verification of XXXX accounts being closed in separate envelops. The account I was aware of, XXXX XXXX I have no idea what this other account is and couldn't get any additional info from Capital One fraud representative, the other account ended in XXXX. Since verification of XXXX accounts being closed I still receive communication from them as if I am a customer. I don't have the date but, I have received a debit card well after the closing of the accounts. I have called each time and they confirm I don't have a account. Today I received a notice about setting up my new 360 checking account ( I am embarrassed to say I can not remember how the message came to me, it had to be by text but I can not find it! ) I went to the website for their phone number and called. Thinking I was still dealing with the first XXXX accounts I inadvertently found another account had been opened in my name, the last XXXX digits are XXXX. I couldn't get any additional info about this account from the Capital One representative except it the information to open the account was done online yesterday, XX/XX/XXXX.
