I have had a Discover Credit Card for over 5 Years. Have always made my payements on time. I recieved an email from Discover stating that my account would be going through a verification and was forwarded to sign a document to confirm my identity with the IRS. I Signed and submitted the document as requested. Discover was informed that my taxes were not filed in 2021. I informed Discover that my taxes was fraudulently filed and going through a process to handle it. Discover stated that I would have to send 3 months of bank statements and provide a notarized letter that they provided to be signed. I submited the requested documents, they then emailed me about a week later stating that I had the incorrect notary form, which was a form that was sent to me by their customer service representative and was emailed the correct form. I contacted Discover about two weeks after to get an update, they stated i would have to wait for an email that i would get after my documentation is reviewed. A month later I still recieved no email from Discover or recieved any phone call. I had to call in to learn that they only had two bank statements when I confirmed with a representative that it was recieved and that an email was sent on XX/XX/XXXX to request the statements again, I recieved no email from them at all. The rep stated that it is nothing that can be done. I find it weird that I get all the other emails from Discover and it was confirmed that my bank statements were recieved then now its that they dont have them. This needs to be corrected, this is my highest card that I have. Discover is horrible for silently closing my account and trying to play games.
