Aldous & Associates ( " Aldous '' ) has repeatedly taken steps to ruin my and my partner 's respective credit while the alleged underlying debt is disputed ( it would appear that Aldous suggests the disputed account was joint, and thus it decided to attack both of us ). In fact, we want to report our belief that Aldous violated 15 U.S. Code 1681s2 ( and other consumer protection applicable law ) in their blatant disregard for consumer rights and handling of this issue.Aldous has continually ruined our respective credit by reporting the disputed debt as delinquent when they knew or had reason to believe that their information was inaccurate. Once we became aware of Aldous, we respectfully and painstakingly informed them that the debt was not ours, and asked for additional information both electronically and telephonically. We even had an attorneycall Aldous to fact-gather. Aldous has blatantly and systematically ignored all of our requests and statements regarding the inapplicability of the alleged account. Instead, Aldous decided to take the predatory route in attacking our respective credit reports ( which some might consider, as performed here, financial XXXX ) before providing us with information and addressing our information that the account underlying is disputed. Overall, the alleged bill is based on services that were not rendered. As our credit reports show, we pay our debts. We refrained from paying this alleged bill because we needed further information from Aldous, which it decided it simply did not want to provide us ( and because we do not owe thealleged figure. Again, we always pay our debts as history shows ; this is a matter of right and wrong. We will not pay something that is not owed. And, we are disappointed that an entity which holds itself out as being a law firm ( Aldous ) would adopt such scofflaw practices in clear disregard to well established U.S. consumer protection principles and rules.
