Recently, I discovered that there was a negative credit reported due to a collections agency trying to collect a debt that did not belong to me. I called and spoke with " XXXX XXXX '' at Procollect to inquire about this debt and discovered that it belonged to a person named XXXX XXXX. After stating that my name is not XXXX XXXX, she started getting upset, frustrated, and irate when I asked to speak to someone who could help me dispute this. She demanded that this account be paid and that it did belong to me. She was no help at all. I am currently in the process of trying to find housing and it's making it very difficult because of this. I believe this is harassment and abuse by this individual and this company called Procollect. I am not able to get any help and this company has placed a negative report and it's affecting my credit score and ability to find housing. Procollect has provided me with the account number XXXX. I also emailed them a police report as identity theft. Please help as this company is being abusive to their consumers.
