In early XX/XX/XXXX I was contacted by XXXX about a new debt that was put in to collections. Details below : ORIGINAL CREDITOR : XXXX in XXXXXXXX TX PLACED FOR COLLECTIONS ON : XX/XX/XXXX Amount : {$4700.00} The debt was sold to COLUMBIA DEBT RECOVERY LLC DBA GENESIS ( XXXX ; XXXX ). I contacted them informing them this debt was not me and a result of fraud. They informed me it was a debt for an apartment in XXXXXXXX TX. I have lived in XXXX, TX with my wife since XX/XX/XXXX with documentation and witnesses to prove so. They sent me a packet to fill out which requires 4 things : Proof of residence during the time which the fraud occurred, driver 's license, a filed police report for report number documenting the crime and unit that is fraudulently in my name, and a copy of the FTC complaint notarized on the signature page with a physical signature witnessed by notary. This is my attempt to get the FTC complaint required for GENESIS to remove the debt.
