Attempted to call GC Services in XXXX TX after a collection was posted on my credit file. Debt is not mine. GC Services is unreachable through a phone tree that requires information that I do not have. They also never attempted to contact myself prior to turning the debt in for collection. Also contacted XXXX, but they want more information for a service I did not receive. Why is it possible for someone to open accounts/credit in my name and run up thousands of debt without a thorough or complete credit check? Then in turn, the company wants more information from myself to cancel fraud than was likely given to open an account. Why should I have to take my time to prove they are at fault and that it wasnt me rather than a thorough credit check?
