I have an AVANT credit card.I call every month during the first few days of the month and I ask for my entire balance .When I receive the amount from the customer service representative, I pay that amount. I pay in full each month. On XX/XX/XXXX I called and was given an amount of XXXX, which I paid in full. ( KEEP IN MIND A MINIUM PAYMENT WOULD BE XXXX ). On XX/XX/XXXX, I called Avant and was immediately asked if there was something going on in my life which caused me to be late in XXXX. I was shocked because I know I paid this account on time and in full.The account is due on the XXXX of every month however I pay between the XXXX and XXXX of the month, ( early ) .I asked the representative to please check the account because I was not late and paid XXXX. She checked and told me the XXXX was paid and on time but there was XXXX that was left as a balance. She discovered that in XXXX my whole balance was XXXX not XXXX. I then ask her how it is considered a late account when I paid XXXX the XXXX would be carried to XXXX She could not explain why it would be considered late.I then discovered a late fee of XXXX was added to my account for the XXXX. The company did reverse that however on my credit report they hit me with a notation of lowering my credit limit which effected my score. I have had identity theft in the past and i am trying to build my credit.this is wrong and totally the companies fault.They attempted to charge me falsely and lowered my credit limit as if I didn't pay on time, it effected my score. This is fraudulent practice. I CAUGHT IT this time.This company should be investigated for illegal practices to there customers.What can you do?
