I applied for forbearance as a direct effect of covid19 when I lost my job. The process was severely delayed as I was requested to resubmit documents repeatedly. Then the mortgage company changed names, from XXXX to Amerihome, docs expired so the proceed started again. Once finally approved for the modification a letter was sent out stating my payments would now be {$2000.00}!!!!!! vs {$1700.00}. Unable to afford this payment In XX/XX/2021 I applied to refinance with my credit union as they pre approved me for a lower payment. In XXXX the branch manger at my credit union called to inform me they could not do the loan now because Amerihome reported to the credit bureaus that I was behind several months on my mortgage pmts when they should not have. I received a letter from XXXX apologizing and sorry for the inconvenience. I lost the opportunity with my credit union as a result. I contacted a FHA counselor for assistance. She tried several times to explain Im on XXXX now only receiving 60 % pay and requested a reduced payment. The counselor also contacted the attorney representing the mortgage co who also reached out to XXXX to apply my trial payments to reduce to total delinquency below XXXX so I could qualify for XXXX. AH didnt response to any requests. My FHA counselor advised I sign and take this modification knowing I couldnt afford it so the mortgage company wouldnt foreclose. They wouldnt agree to apply money I paid towards the delinquent balance but once they finalized the new loan I have a surplus in my account and the payments are more then what was stated. Current payment is now {$2000.00}.
