On Sunday XX/XX/22 I went to Kohls to shop for clothes for my daughter. Once I was finish shopping the cashier offered my a Kohls credit card. I told her no I dont need need another credit card I will just pay. She stated it was a soft inquiry and it will not affect my credit. I asked her multiple times would it effect my credit and she stated no it would not I can look at the door where they advertise that its a soft credit pull. They she stated if I do it I would get 35 % off my purchase today. So why not if its not going to hurt my credit and Im getting 35 % off my bill. So I asked her again to make sure and she said no it will not and she will show me the ad once she was done then I said okay. She said once Im approve because kohls is a private company thats why they can do a soft credit pull without affecting a customers score. I knew that sounded weird. She told me I was approve and I told her I do not wish to use the card because I was just going to pay for it. She cHarged the card anyways. And I went to ask her again will this affect my score and she stated again no it will not affect my score and she took me yo the door where they advertise pre-qualification is a soft credit pull and she went to tell me that the sign was misleading and it dont affect my score because I was approved. Another employee came over and I asked her was a hard inquiry done and she stated she did not know. So I left the store and it just did not sit well with my so I drove to the other side of the store and asked for a manager. I asked the manager once she came do a kohls credit do a hard credit pull because I asked the cashier multiple times and I told her I did not want a hard credit pull, the manager confirm that a hard credit pull was did and she was sorry and she will offer me kohls cash for my purchase that was on the credit card. That not going to help my credit that you pull without my permission because I asked multiple times if it was a soft because they do not affect your score and she said it was nothing she could do for me. She told me to call Kohls credit and tell them what happen. I think this happened before with the cashier because I told her a very small description of the cashier and she said she knew exactly who I was talking about. So I walk out empty handed with a sorry
