I spoke with CapitalOne " senior account XXXX XXXX '' today regarding the excessive and improper annual membership fee and subsequent late fees and finance charges on my XXXX XXXX credit card account ending in XXXX. Notwithstanding that {$59.00} annual fee is excessive in the first place, it is improper when I rarely use the card, and therefore do not receive any of the benefits, notably the % cash back that CapitalOne advertises. In prior years, CapitalOne customer service agents had the authority to remove the fee ( s ) as a customer accommodation, but apparently now they do not. Adding insult to injury, there are XXXX subsequent months ' of late fees and related finance charges, AND, CapitalOne is reporting the card account as delinquent to the credit bureaus.
