I applied for a mortgage loan with my Boyfriend. We went through all the steps of underwriting, They had numerous approvals asking for some clarification or additional information, which we provided. On the last and final item the Underwriter asked for ( Bank statements for the previous 3 months showing that my pay-check went into the bank account ) I supplied more than the months requested along with the company payroll summary showing each pay-check and the Net amount of each check which lined up exactly with the supplied bank statements. The underwriter then turns down my loan because he says I am married! I am NOT Married, I am single and Utah is not a community property state. The Underwriter waited until my earnest money was not refundable and I was set to close to make up that I am married. I took additional classes and training to be able to secure a good, salaried job and once completed I got a promotion. I have found out that the lender also completed a XXXX stating false reasons for his turndown and again making a false claim that I was married to owner of the company I work for.
