I requested a student loan refund of {$20000.00} from Edfinancial Services for payments made during the XXXX pandemic on XX/XX/2022. I was told that the request would be processed in XXXX days. I did not receive any form of confirmation that the refund had been processed or that it was pending processing. I called EdFinancial again on XX/XX/2022 to make sure my refund request had been submitted. The agent I spoke to confirmed that the request had been submitted. She also told me that there was no defined timeline for processing, reinstating, or refunding my student loans. I filed a complaint with CFPB due to the servicer 's lack of transparency. Shortly after making my complaint Edfinancial Services reinstated a balance of {$9900.00} to my account on XX/XX/2022. I received treasury checks equaling that amount in the mail on XX/XX/2022. {$10000.00} of my requested refund is still missing. I have called Edfinancial Services once a week to ask about the remaining funds. Each Edfinancial agent I have spoken to has said that the refund request is processing but they can not give me a disbursement date because the Department of Education controls the processing timeline. XXXX of the agents gave me the phone number to the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX so that I could speak with someone associated with the Department of Education. I called the number on XX/XX/2022. The XXXX representative I spoke with could not find a record of the request for the last {$10000.00} of my refund. I immediately called Edfinacial Services to figure out why they had not sent the Department of Education a request for the full {$20000.00} I had asked for on XX/XX/2022. The Edfinancial agent claimed that the request had been submitted correctly. She was not able to tell me why the Department of Education did not have any record of it.
