I asked the credit reporting agency, Equifax, to correct this account- XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, because the balance is being reported inaccurately ( {$81000.00} ) even though the account is closed and paid in full. I verified this information with the lender. Equifax will not investigate. They have not provided me with any proof or reason why they continue to report a balance on this account, when there is none. Equifax sent me a letter stating that they modified the " closed date '' but they did not. ( see attached document from them ). They will not provide me with any proof for reporting a balance on this account, which is closed and paid in full.
