In XXXX 2022, I opened a capital one venture X credit card. Within one week, my data had been stolen and used fraudulently. The company froze my account. In XXXX 2022, the fraud claim was resolved and charges were refunded to my account. However, there were actual charges made by me and the {$390.00} membership fee. Although the fraud was resolved, the Company wanted to verify my identity before unfreezing my account ( blocking all functions but payment on existing balances ). I called throughout XXXX and XXXX and was told their department was handling my account and the only thing I should do was make the payments ( including the membership fee ). By the end of XXXX, I had paid off all balances. I called once more XX/XX/XXXX and was informed they were still reviewing my account. On XX/XX/XXXX, I called again and was told my account was closed and I was outside of the refund period for the {$390.00} membership fee despite only one week of usage and my repeated attempts to get my account unrestricted.
