Consumer Narrative

It has come to my attention that on my Experian credit report there has been several ( four ) unauthorized inquiries in XX/XX/2022. This was extremely unsettling since during this same month two of my accounts were compromised as well. The following are the events that transpired : 1. I went on vacation on XX/XX/XXXX thru the XXXX, traveled back on the XXXX. XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX there was an unauthorized XXXX XXXX inquiry on my credit report. XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, my XXXX account was hacked with several unauthorized transactions, where as I was forced to freeze the account, change passwords and was reissued a new XXXX card. XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX thru the XXXX, my XXXX XXXX XXXX was hacked with several unauthorized transactions, where I once again was forced to freeze the account, change passwords and was reissued a new XXXX XXXX card. XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, there were more unauthorized inquiries from XXXX XXXX again, XXXX and a XXXX. XXXX. Due to the nonstop inquiries, I was forced to lock my Experian account immediately so no more inquiries will bombard my credit report. XXXX. After XX/XX/XXXX, I noticed the lock on my mailbox was broken, making my mail easily accessible to anyone. Therefore, due to the compromise, I had mailbox lock replaced and reinforced. XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, there was an unauthorized attempt to open a checking account with a XXXX XXXX. Thankfully, due to the lock on my Experian credit report the company could not process the application. I was advised by XXXX and XXXX XXXX that my cards where most likely compromised while on vacation since all these events that compromised my financial accounts and credit report happened immediately after my vacation. It is suspected that the hackers who compromised my accounts are the same who tried steal my identity to open new accounts in my name and broke my mailbox lock. They were hoping to steal my identity, get new credit cards, take them from my mailbox and use the credit cards while I would be stuck with the charges! Obviously, someone is monitoring my financials so now I have to be extremely careful with the security of my accounts going forward.
