Consumer Narrative
Wells fargo lost a class action lawsuit in which they opened accounts without consent of their clients. They continued the practice without letting their clients know. When asked about the fee they would just send a new debit card, but the fees would keep happening. This has been happening to me for 121 months. On around XX/XX/XXXX I called wells fargo to report a fraudulent transaction on my checking account and told the person that I see at least 8 of these fees happening once a month on every month. He said he took a more detailed look at it, and he found only 3 and that I would be reimbursed, the transactions will be blocked in the future, and they would send me a new debit card. Good enough for me but it does not stop here. On XX/XX/XXXX I notice the same fees happening every month and call again call again, I also tell the representative that this is the same thing I called about 10 months earlier. The person looked into the previous and was surprised that there was a record of the call but no notes on what happened and that was weird. They then opened a claim on this and sent me a new debit card. I smelled something fishy, so I looked at the statements myself. I finally deciphered the numbers and called the correct company that was making the charges, XXXX. They, inadvertently, were forthcoming with more information. This account was opened in XX/XX/XXXX and could have only been made in-front of a teller. They reimbursed me 16 transactions without my consent. Wells Fargo had opened an account without my consent or knowledge and slowly it was charging me under my nose. I changed debit cards multiple times in the 10 years of them applying this fraudulent charge but that did not make it stop. Losing a class lawsuit on this also did not make them stop. The only way it stopped is when I learned about it myself and researched the numbers in my statement. The Wells Fargo person who I first talked to in XX/XX/XXXX was lying about the fee and did not open an inquiry to resolve the issue. In XX/XX/XXXX a claim was opened but it was shuffled multiple times ( attached picture, ) they kept closing the claim and opening a new one. They finally sent me a notice stating that I opened this account, and they could only reimburse me for 60 days. Complete lies. The employees are deliberately continuing fraudulent actions at Wells Fargo and gave this a run around without using proper channels. They should be found and fired.
