Consumer Narrative

On XX/XX/XXXX I disputed an account with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. The complaint I am filing is specifically related to their reporting on my Equifax Credit Report. They are reporting that I was delinquent on a payment by 60 days in XXXX and XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX. I have provided both Equifax and XXXX XXXX XXXX services documentation from a court order in relation to this inaccuracy. The account was originally in both my wife and I 's name at the time it was taken out. In the court order it states " Wife shall be solely responsible for all debt obligations on such titled or leased property, if there is any, and shall hold XXXX harmless theron. My ex-wife retained possession of this vehicle and terminated the lease early unbeknownst to me as we were divorced. In the transaction with the dealership where she traded the car they advised they would take care of the remaining balance in relation to her new vehicle purchase ( I assume roll over any unpaid balance ). I was never notified of this until XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX when XXXX XXXX contacted me for the first time about a " late payment ''. You can imagine my surprise that they had let the payment get this late without reaching out to my ex-wife who was the one who had traded the car in and two never attempted to contact me on an account I did not even have access to any longer. In fact, XXXX XXXX XXXX had removed my ability to even make payments on this account in their online portal and through the phone. It was at that point that I had to reach out to my ex-wife 's family and I had no contact information for her and threaten legal action if they did not resolve the problem. This account should not be listed in my name as negative as I have court documents showing I had no responsibility for the loan after we dissolved our divorce.
