I received a capitol one debit card in the mail around 2 weeks ago. I did not think much about it since I had applied for credit cards at the store. I saw an email today that it stated that my account was overdraft and I immediately sign in. I called Capitol One Fraud department and I advised them of the situation. They are investigating the fraud activity but they told me to report it to the Federal Bureau of Investigation of fraud. I was able to enter into the account by answering security questions and my own name, social security, and date of birth. Therefore, this means that someone is using my information to access these accounts or to open these accounts. Capitol one tells me that this is an acquired account from another prior source. I do not have any accounts opened with any other banks. There is {$1000.00} XXXX XXXX transfer, XXXX XXXX XXXX of {$190.00} to a XXXX XXXX, and a withdrawal of {$800.00} from account XXXX to account XXXX performance, all of these charges being made on XX/XX/2022. I assume they are virtual transactions so the ip addresses should pinpoint the location of these charges to exculpate me.
