I noticed 1 collections account on my credit around XXXX of XXXX. I called the apartment property manager who confirmed this account to be fraudulent. She informed me that there was a fraud alert placed on the XXXX XXXX apartment application on XX/XX/XXXX and the drivers license number on file is incorrect ( does not match my drivers license number ) and she was a new property manager so she was unaware of the transactions. They have an emergency contact for XXXX XXXX, I do not know this person. They also have a contact email address on file that is incorrect. This person rented the apartments and did not pay anything towards the account but they could not be evicted during covid. The total amount is for {$22000.00}. The property manager stated she would send the information she provided over the phone via email but she did not get back to me after multiple attempts to get through to the office I attempted to find the contact information for the collection agency. I requested a physical copy of my credit report around XX/XX/XXXX. I believe that same person rented another apartment at the XXXX XXXX. The apartment property manager would not give me any information and stated I should contact the police to receive any information on a possible fraudulent account. I called the collections agency on XX/XX/XXXX and was informed to dispute the charges with the main credit bureaus. The collection agency manager provided the account number and amount owed was {$29000.00}. I filed a police report the same day, XX/XX/XXXX. After receiving a copy of the police report on XX/XX/XXXX to report the incident to all major credit bureaus possible.
