On Wednesday XXXX I received a collection call on a credit card balance that I did not open. I was not told and do not know the balance involved. The company was Genisis Card Services, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, Oregon XXXX and I explained I never applied for this card and never received or used this card. I was asked to confirm my address and they did not have my current address, but instead an address I had lived at in XXXX ( XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX TX XXXX ). I then was transferred to their fraud department and I explained again the situation. I was skeptical about this call because I had a very difficult time understanding the person I spoke with ( accent ) and there was a dog barking in the background. I was told they would send out a letter explaining all the steps I need to complete, but as of today I have not received anything - letter or follow up communication. In addition, I get so many scam-type emails and text messages that I do not open and just delete. I did notice a letter " declining '' a credit card request from XXXX XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX ( reference # XXXX ) that was addressed to my old address. I really didn't think much of it at the time, but know I am.
