On XX/XX/2022, I made a payment in the amount of {$650.00} to Nissan XXXX towards account XXXX. I received confirmation from the Nissan XXXX that the account was now back in good standing and the car was no longer in repossession. I also made arrangements with Nissan XXXX to resume making payments, as I previously was doing. On XX/XX/2022, the day that my kids began their first day of school, I awoke to the horror that the car was gone. I contacted Nissan XXXX and I was advised that the car was repossesed. The only way to get the car back was to pay off the balance in the amount of {$24000.00}, as well as the Repossession fee of {$550.00}. Upon reviewing the Nissan XXXX Statements from the month of XXXX, XXXX and XXXX, I don't see the payment of {$650.00} that I made. This payment was debited to my account on XX/XX/2022 but was never recorded with Nissan XXXX. This omission of the payment is what led to unethical and illegal repossession of the vehicle, which also turned my life upside down. In the absence of the vehicle that was illegally repossessed, I was forced to resort to taking XXXX trips at a significantly high cost over the past week, as well as renting a vehicle for 2 days, in order to get around. In addition to this, the fact that there is now a repossession on my credit report, has made it virtually impossible for me to lease another vehicle. Needless to say, I feel extremely violated and taken advantage of by this entire ordeal. Whenever I spoke to Nissan XXXX, and they asked me why I suddenly fell behind on my payments, I explained to them that in the past few months, my expenses suddenly skyrocketed. My cost for gas, food, auto insurance, etc, increased to the point that made it extremely difficult to keep my head above the water. My plan, at this point, was to look for a 2nd job, so that I can still make ends meet and cover all of my expenses. I contacted the repo company, XXXX XXXX @ XXXX and I was advised that the XXXX XXXX is still at their lot at the moment. It has not yet been sent to auction. How could this happen in the United States in 2022??? I feel so let down by the system. I voted for President Biden with the hope and understanding that the economy would improve after the covid pandemic. I really hope and pray that you can assist me with making this right.
