I was legally withholding rent in FL due to an uninhabitable rental unit. My landlord fraudulently charged my credit card for my rent. He did not have my authorization and has created a fraudulent document to say he had my permission. It does not have my signature or my initials and I had never seen it before my bank showed it to me. It was a fraudulent charge and my bank chime has stood behind my landlord in keeping the rent money. I ended up terminating my lease that same month and had every right to withhold my money. Ive never paid rent with a credit card its not even listed as a way to pay it on the lease. I never lived in the unit during the month in question. I am getting no where with Chime.
