Consumer Narrative
First I must begin with my information was part of the massive XXXX data leak back in XXXX. I had a pretty rough time with credit years ago, but never really cared enough to check my credit at all until recently. My credit report has been mixed up and merged with another persons and instead of immediately deleting the fraudulent and incorrect information, Experian keeps opening new disputes for me when I call and then updating the personal information to match mine instead! I didnt want a dispute! I wanted the information deleted. Starting towards the beginning of XX/XX/XXXX I began calling and discussing with Experian a couple of accounts/inquiries I didnt recognize as mine and wanted deleted. They instead opened a dispute for me, updated those accounts to link them to me and kept them on my profile when the dispute was completed. Then I had an entire bulk of additional accounts that were also in someone elses name added to my credit on top of that. Once again, I called and spoke with an associate at Experian and they insisted they could erase information immediately even after I explained what happened before. They insisted that they would code everything right for deletion. So they opened another dispute for me and then the information was, once again, just updated and remained on my report. These accounts were completely in someone elses name, address and SS # however Experian not only left them on my account. They updated the names, addresses and SS # during their disputes to match my information! Thats completely unethical and illegal in my personal opinion. All the bureaus pool information together from these consumer reporting agencies, thatre just random third parties that have no real way of validation. Whos going to hold the 3 bureaus or all the consumer reporting agencies accountable for these mistakes or fine them for their wrongdoings? Absolutely no one. They have no fear in putting anything they want on anyones credit report, regardless of the outcome for their financial situation. I request IMMEDIATE removal or verification of all accounts in question and have lost faith completely all the credit reporting and consumer reporting bureaus for reporting false or incorrect information so freely.
