On XX/XX/XXXX, I contacted EdFinancial to request a refund for the payments that I made during the COVID Payment Forbearance, when payments were not required. I made payments from XX/XX/XXXX- XX/XX/XXXX before my loans were transferred to XXXX. The total payment amount I made during this time period was {$26000.00}. I received no email or paper correspondence confirming that my refund request was actually submitted. On XX/XX/XXXX, I reached out to EdFinancial again to confirm that the request was submitted. I received a email back from " XXXX '' with the following message : " Our records indicate that your request was submitted on XX/XX/XXXX. Please allow 7-10 business days for review, and 60-90 days for processing your refund. We will notify you if anything else is needed. '' After over 90 days had passed, I reached out to EdFinancial again on XX/XX/XXXX. I spoke to agent " XXXX '' on their virtual chat. I was provided no further information, other than my request was still " processing. '' She was not able to give me an estimated completion date. When I asked when I should follow up again to ensure my request does not get lost, I was told " there is no need to follow up again until the request has been processed. '' My loans are currently pending transfer to XXXX, and when I asked if this would cause a problem with the processing of the refund, the agent was not able to answer this question. My loan balance has not increased since requesting the refund. I have received no correspondence from EdFinancial on its progress and I was given no estimated date when I should see my loan balance increase, or when the refunds would be processed. I have no physical proof than my refund was ever submitted and I have very little faith that I will get any amount of my payments back, even though the federal government has stated that these payments can be refunded.
