In XXXX I received a bill from XXXX for an account that I did not create. The day that I received the bill I called customer support and advised them this was fraud, they placed an alert on the account and told me I had to go into a location. I did so, and the representative submitted a fraud form. I asked him for further information on the account including a call history and where the calls were placed from, they would not provide this information ; the only information that he would give me is the other name on the account ( XXXX XXXX ) I do not know this person and that the account was created at a XXXX XXXX and calls were made to the XXXX XXXX. He advised me that I would be all set with the fraud form and someone will call me in a week or so. No call ever came. I received another bill in XXXX, and again I call customer support and advise them of the account being fraud and the person I spoke with adv. me to go into the location and that they would call me back later that day to follow up, I went into the location and spoke to the same representative as the first time, who adv. me that my previous fraud claim was denied as the charges were valid. The calls were made on the account but I did not create this account, have access to it before receiving the bill, nor make any calls on the account. He submitted another fraud form and asked that someone from the fraud dept. call me. Not only did I not receive a call back from customer support, I received a call from XXXX but when I picked up they hung up twice. I again asked for information on the account, they would not provide anything. Even after disputing this account from the day I received the first bill, this account was sent to collections on XX/XX/XXXX and can now possibly affect my credit if I do not pay this bill. This is essentially extortion because if I do not pay, then my very good credit will be affected negatively. They have not allowed me to prove that I did not create this account and have not provided me with any information in regards to this account. It was not until I spoke with the collection agency that I was told that my social security number was on the account ( Without my knowledge or my authorization ), they also mentioned a police report needed to be filed along with the fraud form. This was done and all the necessary information has been submitted with the fraud form on XX/XX/XXXX, I have yet to hear back on this. XXXX, did not provide me with either of those bits of information. They did not provide me with any opportunity to try to prove I did not create this account nor give me any necessary information to try to get tot he bottom of how this account was created and by whom.
