On XX/XX/22 I accidentally transferred {$7000.00} dollars from my Wells Fargo Checking account using Online Bill Pay to an old/closed credit card with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX This card has not been used in >8 years ( maybe more ). Per XXXX XXXX XXXX they have not received the money since the credit card has been long closed, and there is no accompanying bank account associated with the credit card. I have spent hours on the phone with Wells Fargo talking to low-level call center employees who tell me that they have to " research '' the issue. However, it has now been XXXX month and Wells Fargo has not returned the money to my account. They are unable/unwilling to give me a receipt or any other proof that the money was indeed sent to and received by XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX
