On Friday, XXXX, I received a call from Capital One about an important message related to XXXX XXXX credit card. I called the number on my credit card on Sunday, XXXX, to inquire. I was told by customer service that my account had been deactivated and in order to get it corrected I needed to send in a copy of the front and back of my state-issued ID, a copy of the front of my Social Security card , and a recent utility bill. Despite my repeated questions about why this was necessary a suitable response was never given. I even spoke with a supervisor but was told the system wouldn't allow her to tell me the issue until after I had submitted the requested information. Further compounding the problem, any current rewards I have earned by using the credit card are now frozen and no longer available to me. I called XXXX customer service but they said there was nothing they can do. Before I cancel the card I thought I would try this complaint service as a last option.
