I applied for a job at XXXX '. On Monday XX/XX/XXXX, I was interviewed and hired on the spot. On Tuesday XX/XX/XXXX, I was emailed a request by third party First Advantage, to provide answers to questions pertaining to a consumer/criminal background check, through a link they provided. It started off asking criteria for addresses for the past 8 years. Since I lived at my current address for over 8 years, I used only one address, my current address. Usually, when companies asked for addresses, they ask for 10 years, and do a criminal background check going back 10 years. First Issue, fraud, deception and Not Full Disclosure : First Advantage included incorrect information on my file, going back 24 years. The criminal background check for XXXX, through First Advantage, included an 8 year criminal check. Then they ask for misdemeanor, felony convictions. I had a misdemeanor 24 years ago, which I disclosed, and First Advantage agreed that the background check would include 8 years worth of search, but deceived me. They should have asked for 24 years of information, addresses and searches, if they wanted it. Additional failure to disclosure/No space to type response Second : They did not give me sufficient time, and typed space to provide more information about the background information they inquired about. In fact, only one sentence, 75 characters could be typed. I was supposed to be given 7 days to get the information to First Advantage, but after a day, I received a declined offer from the employer. If I needed just 1 day to get the information back in, then it should have been provided and disclosed properly. I was required to get a police report for an allege offense in XXXX, which is unreasonable. To get any offense report, you need the date, time and address. Supposedly it happened in XXXX, when I was arrested getting my license renewed at the XXXX. That date would be a good guess, because I was not involved. It is a mistake of false witness identification and that was the difficulty obtaining it. Still, First Advantage gave me 7 days to try, but did not communicate this with their client, XXXX 's, who rescinded the officer before the 7 days had expired. First Advantage is a fraud, and deceptive company who set criteria of 8 years for criminal searches, but goes further in the past than that. In my case, they went back 24 years, which was not disclosed on the criminal background questionnaire sheet. My understanding that for background checks purposes, information older than 10 years can not be disclosed to the hiring company, per federal law. This is fraud, deceptive business practices, and a clear violation of the FCRA
