In accordance with the fair credit Reporting act Hyundai Motor Finance, has violated my rights. Hyundai Motor Finance recently took repossession of my car after I suffered a hardship ( was behind 2 months due to COVID-19 ). Spoke to a representative who asked me when I would be able to bring payment current - upon giving her a 5-7 day window- she explained to me that my vehicle was not currently in a repossession status as of yet but I needed to make that payment. Upon making multiple payments via XXXX XXXX quick collect totaling over XXXX which was more than what was owed ( my monthly payment was roughly {$670.00} ) right after I made the payment- my car was repossessed a few days later. Upon speaking with the towing company the lady expressed that sometimes they will lie to get you to make the payment and still take the car. I was working from home and with no childcare ( which was due to my daughters dad having XXXX ). I had to cover tuition that month which is what put me behind. I am a parent with one income - so I had no idea that they towed the car. Upon calling they told me that I had to pay the whole loan balance off opposed to the {$1700.00} that they said was past due. Keeping in mind I paid my balance. The tow trucker driver told me that the system is automatic and that because I paid via XXXX XXXX quick collect and didnt make the payment over the phone and it was the weekend Hyundai probably didnt know it was made. However, upon trying to explain my situation to Hyundai reps I was met with ridicule and condescending tones and one rep even disconnected the call. Ive been with Hyundai Motor Finance for a total of 7yrs that was my third vehicle in a row with them. So to be treated like that during one of the most low moments in my life was very hard. It impacted not only my mental health in the moment - but now I am without a vehicle, this will impact my credit as I am trying to save to purchase a home for my daughter and I. They refused to work with me only manipulate me into a payment just to go against their words. I am still lost and do not know what to do. Please help me.
