Consumer Narrative
On XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX opened a credit card for me. It was my first credit card ever. I needed one because my family and so was trying to purchase our first home and my credit was deemed to new. I was advised by my credit union to open a credit card account. So I received a limit of {$2000.00}. I paid my balance on time and more then what I owed for months. On XX/XX/XXXX. My family and I suffered a electrical house fire. We lost every single thing we owned and only had the clothes on our backs and childrens back. XXXX XXXX helped us get into a hotel. I went to my credit union and asked for an increase on my credit card to regain important documentation weve all lost as well as to have food and continued shelter. I was given a {$8000.00} increase. Making my new credit limit {$10000.00}. I never went over my balance maximum and always paid on time what I owed. In the beginning of XXXX. I utilized my credit card to get into a new apt and furnish the apt . As well as, clothes for the children, myself and husband. Unfortunately, it placed me at the maximum of my limit. As well as, a few late charges reflecting on the account which caused the balance to go over the credit limit. I intend to pay {$3000.00} on my credit card with my paycheck. I suffered severe XXXX XXXX due to neglect of XXXX restaurant in XXXX NC. I had severe XXXX and was terribly ill. I wasnt able to make the monthly payment for XXXX, XXXX and now XXXX. I advised my credit union that I am waiting on my case settlement and will pay the balance in full. They stated I have until XX/XX/XXXX to pay the past due amount or they will place this account as a charge off and it will lower my score even further. I tried to explain my situation but they said this matter is final. I am still waiting for the check to be cut to me. I do not know what else to do. I am in search of employment currently since my recovery. I am a XXXX XXXX as an XXXX. I have been for over 11 years, I make XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX for work. Once I receive an assignment I get paid. In this economy it can be slow in getting work. I am doing all I can, as I have explained to my lender XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX.
