On XX/XX/2022 I was contacted by Capital One about the Venture XXXX credit card I opened up and they said that they needed me to submit some information for identity verification. I uploaded those documents on the same day. On XX/XX/2022 I called Capital One to make sure that I uploaded everything correctly, they said that I needed to add a few more bank statements and other documents which I added. On the phone they said everything looked good and to wait to hear back. On XX/XX/2022 I got a call from a Capital One agent who wanted to get on the phone with my XXXX XXXX account to confirm some information I submitted. The Capital One agent tried to call XXXXXXXX XXXX multiple times and could not get ahold of anyone. The agent said that my account had then been marked as permanently restricted and there was nothing I could do to get it open again. I tried to get specific information about why my account was being permanently restricted and was connected with a manager who could also not give me any information. I have talked with multiple different agents at Capital One who say there is nothing to be done to prove my identity and they can't give me any information on what the discrepancies were. I have been charged a {$390.00} membership fee for the card which can now not be refunded and Capital One says there is no way of getting back even though the permanently restricted my account and I will have no access to my rewards points or any membership benefits. Being locked out of my account and having to eat {$390.00} without any explanation has been really hard to process and that amount of money is a significant amount to me. I find it absurd that I can't do anything further to prove my identity or at the very least be reimbursed for my membership fee that any benefits of are now also permanently locked.
