Hi, I have been paying off my student loans throughout the payment pause and finally paid it off two days before Bidens Loan forgiveness announcement. According to the Federal student aid website, You can get a refund for any payments you make during the payment pause ( XX/XX/XXXX ). I called Edfinancial services this past XX/XX/XXXX, after hearing the Student Debt Relief Plan to request a refund since the payment pause is extended until XX/XX/XXXX, with payments and interest resuming in XX/XX/XXXX. During the call, the Edfinancial rep said processing time will take XXXX days, which is nearing the payment resuming date. Other loan services such as XXXX XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX are only quoting 3-8 weeks and a few people have seen their loans reinstated. I am a Pell grant recipient and am therefore eligible for the XXXX Loan forgiveness. Also, Edfinancial is not providing a receipt or email confirmation to prove that a refund request is made during the call. I understand the number of calls the company is having and will continue to have during this time but that shouldnt be an excuse to brush people off with vague explanations. To whoever will be looking through this email, it seems like Edfinancial does not have our best interest here due to the lack of information and for showing insignificance to this issue.
