Called Edfinancial requesting a refund for payments made since the beginning of the pandemic which is entirely valid according to https : XXXX. Was told the refund would take 180 days which extends past the loan pause. Did some research and it looks like other borrowers have been requesting refunds for months and the timelines they are giving are changing constantly. 2 separate users have reported they keep extending the timeframe for a refund from back in XXXX, from 30 to 60 to 90 to now 120 is what he was told this month even after putting the request in back in XXXX. There are several threads online of users experiencing this and it's a growing concern for borrowers who are looking to this relief plan for relief but may not be able to get it because the lender is just extending the refund time frame past the forgiveness date. Other lenders are reporting 4 to 6 weeks which makes sense logically. Also, some borrowers are being told to request forgiveness as soon as it's available by dfinancial even though the refunds aren't being recognized against their accounts. Meaning they are telling users to request forgiveness when their loan values aren't actually correct while the refund is still " processing ''.
