Unresolved Private Loan Complaint. I am trying to communicate with SallieMae about struggling to make payments and they offer no options besides to continue paying. They constantly harass my co-signer and even when I continue to make the minimum payment. I am close to defaulting and they refuse to help. However, I still make the monthly payment except it is considered late because I have a balance I can not fully cover. It is affecting my credit score and causing a lot is a lot of stress even when I still try making the monthly payment. My first issue is I originally had applied for this loan online but because there was an error I made I contacted support and they assisted me to cancel and reapply over the phone. Though I do not recall ever agreeing to the current plan I am on which is in-school interest payments plan. Therefore I had requested multiple times for them to go back to this call and reassure me that it is what I had agreed to. They never get back to me with this information and only ask me to keep paying. They provide the worst service even as a full-time student where they dont really help. They tell me I am making the minimum payment required yet the current payment plan I am on is the same as the original plan I am told I had signed up for. So I am not sure how this helps in any way. I have asked them if they could change it to forbearance but they say once I agree to terms I can not make changes. Feels like a trap to me when signing up with them. Another issue is the school Itself to where I used to pay these loans toward to. I am no longer in that school as it left me without a choice along with this massive debt that I feel seems fraudulent and also in the process of looking to file a complaint. This also prevents me from getting the potential financial help for my current school. But most importantly as of now I need this issue with SallieMae to be finally resolved.
