This occurred on Friday XX/XX/2022. Finance Systems of Toledo has contacted me about medical debt owed to a dentist. On more than one occasion, I told the debt collector ( XXXX XXXX ) that the amount owed is incorrect as I have already paid for the service but XXXX was still insisting I pay the entire amount he was billing me for, which included the amount I already paid. I have yet to receive an updated bill reflecting what I've already paid. Previously, I had asked XXXX what the amount of time I have before this is reported to the credit bureau and XXXX said he didn't know. I asked for a validation of the debt I owed and I was mailed information from the dentist that included protected health information which was sent in XXXX, prior to my knowledge of the debt collection. I contacted XXXX to let him know that this information is a HIPAA violation and my rights were violated when the agency obtained this information. XXXX said that that wasn't true and I must not want to pay my debt, which is the second time he has said that. I reiterated that the amount I'm being told to pay is incorrect and asked to speak with his supervisor. When I spoke with his supervisor, I relayed that my rights were violated by my private health information being given to an entity I did not give consent for my information to be disclosed to. His supervisor said if I didn't want my information being given out, I should just pay my bill on time ( a bill I've already paid ).
