Consumer Narrative

In XXXX of XXXX I submitted my initial complaint against XXXX XXXX It is as follows : On XX/XX/XXXX of XXXX I checked my credit report and found an collection account that I didn't recognize. Knowing this entry had to be a mistake I sent a debt validation letter to XXXXXXXX XXXX that same day. On XX/XX/XXXX of 2021 I received a response from the company saying that an investigation was going to be done into the matter and in the meantime the account would be deleted from the credit reporting bureaus, that was never done. I never received any update or validation into this erroneous account. Instead, it remained on my credit reports and continued to lower my credit scores. On XX/XX/XXXX of 2021 I sent a following up request into this matter directly to XXXX XXXX. I let them know that it had been over 5 month since my initial request for validation and advised them that they had violated my consumer rights by having the account removed from my credit reports and by not validating the debt while continuing to report it. I advised them that their silence was obviously and admission of silence and I was under the impression that the debt should have been removed because they failed their legal duty to answer my claims. They in response they sent me a letter stating that my request for validation was frivolous and irrelevant even though they never followed up their legal end of the deal. I am requesting for this account to be removed from all XXXX of my credit profiles immediately. The response I received was that this company didn't believe they violated my consumer rights and they continued to report the account as collection account with missed payments. Following that response I paid the account in full with agreement from the company that is would be removed from my credit reports. Since then it has been removed from my XXXX reports but not from my Equifax and XXXX reports. This account is continuing to report as if I am missing payments each month which in fact is not true as this account is paid and should've been removed. My validation letters to the company have been ignored for the last 6 months.
